We, at PD, like to be as inclusive with our passions as possible. Star Trek vs. Star Wars? To us, it’s not so black and white. With both being the epitomization of what the Sci-fi Fantasy industry has to offer, the PDT cannot help but get excited when either of the franchises give us something new.
This is why, on December 18th, the PDT and friends got together at PD HQ to embark on a journey towards new territory – Star Wars territory. Picture this: A group of Trekkies watching a Star Wars movie. In public. By choice. On opening night. Without a single hiccup. Hard to imagine? It shouldn’t be because that’s exactly what the PDT and friends did! There was popcorn, people of all ages, some cheeky drinks, 3D glasses and a whole lot of excitement.
You don’t have to be a die hard fan to understand that Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is a movie fit for the franchise. The action, the story, the characters, the nostalgia – familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. The group came out smiling and impressed, ready to watch it all over again.
Of course, a group of Trekkies cannot watch Star Wars without having a little bit of their own fun. After all, when two things work together, amazing things can happen, right? Pixel Dreams took that to the test by putting their own spin on the intense trailer for Force Awakens à la Wrath of Khan – marking the birth of The Force of Khan Awakens. A beautiful marriage of Trek and Wars, two things we love most. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
