Muskoka

Friday April 27 |

There are few things that can get me out of bed before sunrise – one of them was our latest Friducation trip to Muskoka. Last Friday our team decided to pay our friends over at Gardiner a visit. We wanted to get a glimpse of the cottage life to hopefully inspire our minds before starting a rebranding assignment.

The 4 hour drive up was too short, I remember northerly drives being so much longer. It’s funny how time seems to speed up as we get older, but maybe it was that episode of Star Trek we watched on our way there. Before we knew it, we were in Muskoka, surrounded by the fresh crisp air and waiting for Jim to take us on a little tour around the lake.

Gloomy skies and rough waters greeted us, but after a league or two, the sun broke through and warmed our spirits. We continued touring around, stopping from time to time to dream up the possibilities of owning one of the many beautiful lake-side cottages sold by Gardiner.

Our hunger soon led us over to Marriott’s The Rosseau, where we all enjoyed hearty meals, shared stories and laughter. The Gardiner team were wonderful hosts, exciting us to come experience the north again when the scenary changes once again in the fall. Hopefully we don’t wait that long for another visit.
